Tom joins us as an Non-executive Director. He has extensive impact investing expertise with over thirty years progressive financial and investment experience, predominantly in East and Southern Africa. Since January 2023, he has been working on an advisory basis on a range of impact investing-related assignments, including the Global Steering Group for Impact Investing (GSG), Palladium International, Ecorys, and Agri-Frontier.

Prior to 2023, Tom was Palladium’s Team Leader for the FCDO Impact Programme, a UKAid programme supporting the growth and development of the global impact investing ecosystem in order to increase the flow of impact investing capital to Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia.

He was also the Director for AgDevCo with specific responsibility for developing AgDevCo’s investment pipeline and portfolio in Rwanda, and from 2005 – 2016 he was Founder and Managing Partner of Pearl Capital Partners (formerly African Agricultural Capital Ltd), an Impact Investment Fund Manager focusing on making investments in small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the East African agriculture value chain.
